When it rains... the FHS Raider and the Longsjo Olympian will start to appear around Longsjo Middle School! Working on more with the kids this week!
It took a few tries to get it right.... but I think we have it down pat!

Feeling the HEAT in Fitchburg Wisconsin!

Feeling the HEAT in Fitchburg WI! On Sunday, thanks to a great Fitchburg-Fitchburg connection with Rick Jollimore of the Fitchburg Fire Department(MA) and Dwight Shelton of the Fitchburg Fire Department (WI) we were welcomed to a tour of the brand new (2017) Fitchburg Wisconsin Fire Station #2!
This facility is beautiful----and---GREEN FIRE TRUCKS!! ❤️💚💚❤️
They have a Quint-Truck which is both an Engine (pumper) and a Ladder truck, and they have Tenders---which are trucks that are always filled with Water for emergencies where there is not available city water service---the pumper trucks can suck the water from the 'Tenders' and these Tenders can also run along the road shooting water out of the side or back for Brush Fires.
Their Uniforms/Gear? is Tan =) their facilities are amazing, Subzero/Wolf are manufacturers in Fitchburg, and donated equipment for their Kitchen which looks state of the Art. The even have an outdoor Garden.
Sleeping quarters for the 1 day on 2 days off? Firefighters and Interns with the local college for Fire Science degrees.
Fitch-Rona EMS operates out of their facility as well....and the FFR are working are working on getting a Fitchburg Emergency Management Agency more organized.
They use their gear for 10 years until it 'expires' and it is donated to rural communities or international areas.
They have a 3rd Fire Station under construction NOW as well.

Their flag and Fire Station has a large Irish theme (hence GREEN trucks!) — with Sam Squailia andDwight Shelton at Fitchburg Fire Rescue.

Built in 2017, Fire Station #2 in Fitchburg Wisconsin— at Fitchburg Fire Rescue.
